Features to Consider LED LIGHT SOURCE- Greater Efficiency, More Lumens Per Watt Since the LEDs development and improvements, with its characters of high efficiency, long life, not easy to damage, and high reliability. It is suitable to widely use in torch.
LEDs have always been marketed as offering greater efficiency than incandescent filament sources, more lumens per watt. Good LED optical solutions can offer excellent beams without the shadows, rings and black holes often found using filament bulbs.
In 2003,U.S. LED maker Cree created an up to 65 lm / W (lumens per watt) of the white LED commodities, which is the brightest white LED. In 2005, they show a white light LED prototype under 350mW, the highest efficiency of 70 lm per watt documentary. And Cree continue to break their own record. Therefore,a torch with CREE single-chip high intensity LED and approx.74 lumens per watt will provide highest light output in the same class.
Specific Benefits for ATEX Equipment LEDs are a ‘cool’ solid-state technology; they do not present the hazards of hot filaments in incandescent lamps, but lend themselves to higher levels of protection.
To meet the criteria for the explosion proof rating, an enclosure must be able to contain any explosion originating within its housing and prevent sparks from within its housing from igniting vapors, gases, dust, or fibers in the air surrounding it. Therefore, explosion proof, when referring to electrical enclosures, does not mean that it is able to withstand an exterior explosion. Instead, it is the enclosures ability to prevent an internal spark or explosion from causing a much larger blast.

Rechargeable Battery Power and safetyThe key advantages of Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) rechargeable battery cells are a very high power density with a low weight, high cell voltage, environmentally friendly, low self discharge, no memory effect and a fast charge rate.
The purpose of the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry(METI) in Japan is to prevent hazards and disturbances resulting from electrical appliances. There have been more and more accidents about lithium-ion battery explosion recently. Therefore, regulations on the lithium-ion battery were included and came into effect on November 20, 2008.
The lithium-ion battery used in electrical appliances must meet every mandatory technical requirement in the law and must be labeled with the PSE mark (circle for battery & diamond for charger). Failure to do so will not be allowed to sell or use in Japan.
The Japan circle PSE mark can be regarded as the strictest regulations for the lithium-ion battery nowadays.
Qualified Mark in Different Market The CE MARK proves that the product conforms to EU health and safety standards, based on the appropriate EU regulations, such as the low-voltage or electromagnetic compatibility directive. In other words, ATEX SAFETY TORCH got European CE certified, compliant with EN 55022:2006+A1:2007 Class B means the product has right of way onto the European market.
FCC stands for the U.S. Federal Communications Commission requiring that all customer-premise telecom equipment and network-attached telecom equipment meet minimum compliance standards.
Australian import conditions require that products have undergone successful safety checks(C-TICK) based on IEC-standards. The standards for electromagnetic compatibility are in line with European norms. Australian approvals are also valid for the New Zealand market.
